With the exception of the DEFENDER bar screen, all of our screening equipment is
designed around the shaftless screw technology.
The Shaftless screws offer a number of advantages over its shafted alternatives.
Shaftless screws do not clog, and are able to transport solids of a much larger
diameter relative to their size.
A shaftless screw screening system is at its core just a shaftless screw conveyor
equipped with a set of brushes that continuously keep the perforations on a
screening basket free.
The perforated screening basket sits at the bottom of the shaftless screw
conveyor. The perforation size determines the amount of material that is
screened.
While a smaller perforation is almost always preferred, the capacity of a screen is
reduced with each reduction in perforation size.
The most common perforation sizes are either 2, 3 or 6mm (1/4inch).
The 6mm perforation is used for general fine screening, whereas the 2 and 3mm
perforations are more for membrane systems.
